A small personal ramble to start
I’m not a marketer.
Since starting my blog in 2005, I’ve traveled throughout South Korea and abroad, and along the way I’ve built good relationships with people from many different companies and industries. Every now and then, I get separate questions like, “When we invite Kim Juyoung (joonimism), do you know any other solid creators we could invite as well?” And my answer has usually been, “I’m not really sure…”But from now on, I’d like to be better prepared and build a list of creator colleagues I can confidently recommend when the opportunity comes up.
So, to get to the point—
1) Optimized Naver blog
– A well-optimized blog with daily posting
– 1,000+ daily visitors without blog farm tactics or manipulation
2) YouTube or Instagram
– 5,000+ followers or subscribers
– Consistently uploading videos at least twice a week
3) A clear personal identity or specialty
– Someone with travel content plus a real area of expertise (and basic professionalism and manners)
If you meet all three of those conditions,

Of course, after years of work and life experience, I know there are always exceptions.

Thoughts on the basic manners of a travel creator
Through so many travel fam tours, I’ve gotten to know all kinds of people, both directly and indirectly.
And there were definitely some people whose manners really stood out to me. A few examples:Let me share them here.
If you found this post by searching how to become a blogger or blogging tips, and you’re a beginner creator, these are especially worth keeping in mind when you join a fam tour.
0. Meet your deadlines
You can do everything else well, but if you miss the deadline, there’s really no excuse. I remember creator peers who are always late, too.
1. Say hello
When you first arrive or board, simply say, “Hello.”
When you leave, say, “Thank you for your hard work.”
It’s such a simple thing to say.
Even if you don’t know each other yet, making eye contact and saying one small greeting can open the door to small talk, right?
I know I personally become more curious about people who are warm and good at greeting others.
2. How you respond after small talk matters
If someone naturally says, “Would you like me to take your photo?” the conversation can easily continue with, “Sure—and would you like me to take one for you too?”
When someone makes the effort to start small talk, I think the response afterward matters a lot. If there’s no response, the other person will probably assume you don’t want to talk.
3. No one is universally good or bad to everyone
When I’ve heard people out directly, I’ve realized everyone has their own circumstances. Someone who doesn’t click with one person may be wonderful to someone else—and the reverse can be true too.
On a fam tour, all kinds of information and impressions get passed around, but if you really want to form an opinion about someone, meet them yourself and talk with them enough before deciding.
And if you happen to meet someone who truly matches your vibe, even better.
Conversation really matters.
That’s one of the best things about a fam tour—you can meet meaningful people through it, so if you get the chance, I really encourage you to join.
I’ve met many good people myself through both domestic and international fam tours.
They’re incredibly useful as a place to learn, share travel content production tips, and meet fellow creators.
