Hi, I’m Earth Village Field Mouse, a blogger and YouTuber who loves reading and traveling. 🙂 There are quite a few reasons I chose Mapo-gu as my home base in Seoul, South Korea, and one of them is the place I’m introducing today: Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok.
If you’ve been looking for a quiet place to work in Gongdeok, this is somewhere worth keeping on your radar. These days, sitting in a café for hours can feel a little awkward, but a library can also feel too silent and rigid when you want a more comfortable work session.
I’ve been staying in a studio near Gongdeok Station, and whenever I need a place to spread out with my laptop and get some personal work done, I find myself coming back here. That’s how Seoul Startup Hub—and especially Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok—became one of my regular spots.
1. Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok
The first thing I thought when I walked into Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok was, “Wow, this is way better than I expected.” Public buildings can sometimes feel stiff or overly formal, but this place was nothing like that.
The interior is modern and polished, and I loved how naturally the space blended people who were working with people who were studying.
It didn’t feel like a room with a few desks dropped in as an afterthought. It genuinely felt designed for staying awhile, organizing your thoughts, and focusing.
2. Location and How to Get There
The location is easy to reach on foot from Gongdeok Station, which makes it especially convenient. According to the official directions, it’s about 350 meters from Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station, and the address is 21 Baekbeom-ro 31-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Since Gongdeok is a major transfer station, it’s also easy to get here from Mapo, Yongsan, Yeouido, and Seoul Station.

It’s also incredibly close to the short-term rental I host through 33m2, which is honestly one of the reasons I stop by so often. 🙂 Hehe…
And this place isn’t just about a public coworking space that anyone can use 🙂 Its original purpose isto provide startup office space.
Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok serves as a startup support hub connecting acceleration programs, global expansion support, investment matching, education, mentoring, and networkingand it also operates specialized infrastructure inside the building, including a Product Development Support Center, a Kitchen Incubator, and studio facilities.
3. Hub Tour Program
The more time you spend using this space, the more you realize it’s not just a simple shared office or laptop-friendly study spot—it’s a platform that creates opportunities.That feeling really stays with you.
They also run a Hub Tour Program that you can apply for, so if you’re interested in startups, I definitely recommend signing up at least once 🙂
When you enter on the first floor, you’re greeted by an open, airy atmosphere, and as you head upstairs, the spaces become calmer and even better for settling in.
There are outlets everywhere, the seating is nicely spaced out, and the overall work atmosphere feels stable and comfortable. If you’re searching for a Gongdeok free coworking space, there are a few corners here that can easily become your go-to hideout.
That’s why I think this works especially well for anyone looking for a free place to study, students who need somewhere to focus during exam season, and freelancers or aspiring founders who spend a lot of time working on a laptop. 4. Parking
It’s worth checking the parking situation before you go. Based on what I saw on the official website, parking is limited, and there’s no free parking support anyway, so public transportation is definitely the easier option.
Honestly, since it’s so close to Gongdeok Station, you really don’t need to drive here.
Another point that caught my attention is the Seoul Startup Hub cafeteria. The in-house spot called Oneul Sikdang offers a meal for one at about $4, which makes it one of the best-value lunch options near Gongdeok Station.

Isn’t that such a reasonable price for working people like us? They also post the weekly menu on the website, which is a huge plus. So good!
In the end, Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok felt like much more than just a place where you can sit for free. It’s somewhere you can spend time well and leave feeling inspired.
If you want to work quietly, need something less noisy than a café but less rigid than a library, or you’ve started thinking about growing a project of your own someday, this is a great place to check out.
For people like me who stay and work around Gongdeok, it can be a genuinely reliable work base.
